Summer 2007

Summer 2007 - 2nd Annual Quakers Middle School Ice Hockey Camp

Middle School Sumer 2007 Ice Hockey Camp Photos

Thanks to Lance Rosenberg at Skatezone and his assistant instructors Issa Aji and Ronnie Schwinn for their work at the camp.  We had 25 camp attendees that got an intense workout and learn new skills.

Letter to our Middle School Parents from Lance

(Director of Hockey at Skatezone Voorhees and Camp Director):

To all the parents,

I wanted to take the time to thank you for participating in the 2nd annual Moorestown/Flyers Skate Zone at Voorhees Middle School Camp.  Prior to the camp, I talked with Ron Schwinn about how I wanted to run it as an intensive training camp.  The emphasis of the camp was skating.  With the new rule changes in the game of hockey, technique, power, and speed are the key factors.  We grew day to day from Skating-puck control-passing-shooting.

We tried to emphasize the importance of certain game situations.  By the last day of the camp, besides the players being tired, I felt they had a very successful camp.  Players were skating with their heads up, moving the puck instead of skating it by themselves, and also moving to get open.

I hope that everyone enjoyed the camp as we tried to make it intensive training, but also fun.  It was a pleasure getting to know the Moorestown players, and hope for a successful season starting tonight.  I will be watching your teams in action throughout the season and will be making notes for Ron to pass on to the coaches in the Club.

Lastly,  I wanted to thank, Issa Aji Ron and Ronnie Schwinn.  Ronnie and Issa were of great help assisting with the players on the ice and helping demonstrate the drills.  It's great to see alumni and current players giving back to their programs.  Without Ron Schwinn this camp would never have come to realization.  It was after discussing ways to help grow a program that Ron and I decided to try this camp.  After 2 years, I feel that we have the roots for big things come for Moorestown as a hockey program.

The difference between year 1 and year 2 was incredible with the work ethic and desire of the players.  Ron's dedication to Moorestown hockey is paying off as the players keep progressing and Moorestown teams continue to get stronger each year.

Best of luck in the upcoming season, hope to see some of you in our clinics or just come on by and say hello.

 Thanks,

 Lance Rosenberg

3/14/07

As we prepare to write the 2006-2007 Fall-Winter season into the record books, we wanted to take one last look at the season in review through a selection of the best season photos from all 5 teams .

The club would like to thank all players, coaches, staff, parents, fans and sponsors for a great season.  We would particularly like to thank the many shooting and production volunteers who brought you the season through an unprecedented number of pictures and videos of our teams in action.

The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat… flying pucks, ice and fists… individuals, teamwork… players, coaches, parents, friends, fans… Varsity, JV, Middle School…. yellow, black, white… hard hits, hard shots…. skill, sportsmanship, finesse, hard work… good times, bad times… blood, sweat and tears….

It has all been captured through the lens in a PhotoShow entitled “Through Glass”.  Click on the collage below to launch the show - show runtime after loading is 4mins 4secs.  Broadband viewing recommended.  Flash plug-in required.  Thanks for your patience as the show loads before playing.
